John Cleese has launched his own YouTube channel, and has kicked things off by celebrating his long career.
The British comedy icon is best known for his role as Basil Faulty in the popular sitcom Faulty Towers, as well as his work on Monty Python and the James Bond franchise.
Speaking over on YouTube, John writes: “Hello YouTubers. I haven’t the foggiest of what a YouTube Channel is, but regardless, I’d like to welcome all fans of comedy (procrastinators) to this place.”
I haven’t the foggiest of what a YouTube Channel is
Funny man Cleese also promises to release “unseen material” onto his YouTube channel to “benefit from as much advertising revenue as possible”! His first video has grabbed nearly 40,000 views, and the channel has already gained around 13,000 subscribers at the time of writing.
John Cleese isn’t the first celebrity to launch their own YouTube this year, either. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently started producing his own videos on the website and has already gained over 1 million subscribers. Not bad.
