Google has announced that more YouTube users are watching travel videos on the website than ever before.
As the height of Summer draws closer, there are signs that more and more of us look to get our travel ideas from videos on YouTube.
Google’s report revealed statistics showing a 118% year-on-year boost for searching travel related-content on YouTube.
Some of the most popular holiday-related videos on the video-sharing website seem to be those that are brand-made, with 67% of travel views coming from professional videos. This is very clearly the case for bigger brands and groups such as Disney and Expedia.
The study also showed that vlogs are the most popular go-to for 18-24 year olds as they plan future trips, whilst the 24-64 year old demographic tends to prefer video reviews and content from travel networks, presumably to prepare for current holiday plans.
Other popular travel videos include looking at excursions, cruises and amusement parks.
