3) The most viewed video on YouTube has been seen over 2,230,000,000 times
One of the beautiful things about YouTube is that the website opens us up to seeing things we would have definitely missed out on before.
Take, for example, a rather energetic South Korean man dancing like he’s cheerfully riding a horse. Who wouldn’t want to see that? Having now racked up over 2,230,000,000 views, Psy’s Gangnam Style music video is the most viewed clip on YouTube.
4) Around 100 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube every minute
The total running time of the Harry Potter films is roughly 20 hours. Imagine settling down and watching all of those films in order.
Now imagine finishing them, and as you’re still drying your eyes at the heroicness of Dobby, you begin watching them from the start again, five times over. The length of time you’ve spent learning valuable life lessons from ‘The Boy Who Lived’ is now equal to the amount of video that’s uploaded onto YouTube in one minute.
In addition to this quite incredible fact, if you were to spend 100 hours watching Harry Potter, during that time you were glued to the screen roughly 12,000 hours of video would have found its way onto the site.
5) Over six billion hours of video are watched on YouTube every month
Well paint me purple and call me Barney.
Six billion hours. Take all the stuff I said about one billion earlier and then times it by six. It works out to almost an hour of video watched for every single person on Earth. This is how big YouTube has become. A dizzying statistic.
