“Once you’ve downloaded YouTube Music, you might, as I did, throw up your hands and wonder why the hell Google bothered to make an app that doesn’t really do anything and is kind of a pain in the ass”. Ouch.
Speaking about YouTube Music in a press release earlier in the month, a YouTube spokesperson said: “You’ll get a completely new type of experience, designed to make discovering music on YouTube easier than ever”.
Spotify killer? Perhaps not
“The app also gives you complete access to one of the richest music catalogs on earth. You’ll be able to quickly find music videos, tracks, artists and albums, but you’ll also see all the remixes, covers, lyric videos and concert footage that YouTube has to offer”.
The frustration doesn’t end there, either. The YouTube Music introduction video has been viewed almost 2.5 million times and has a staggering 10,000 dislikes.
It looks like YouTube needs to make some big changes to fix YouTube Music’s public perception. Right now, things aren’t looking good.
